The 2023 Riesling Lorcher Schlossberg comes from a site right next to the Krone, but underneath the slate, there is quartzite. A touch of peach joins ripe Mirabelle notes on the nose, while a sense of Seville orange peel sets a counterpoint to the ripe fruit. The palate is juicy, rounded, vivid and dry, with a lovely sense of zestiness on the finish and a long line of lemon purity. (Bone-dry) ~ (95) Anne Krebiehl, Vinous 10-1-2024

It feels as if all the world’s herbs have been brought together in this samurai sword-sharp, off-dry riesling that shines like a supernova right across the universe. Only medium-bodied, but this is as concentrated as it gets in the world of white wine. The racy and stony purity in the finish is absolutely breathtaking. Barely off-dry. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold. ~ (98) Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com 7-1-2024

Intense lime and peachy notes, such ripe and pure fruit. Medium dry but balanced by the crisp citrus freshness. Rounded, generous and long. The fruit dominates but it is made more interesting by the lightly chewy texture and the mineral undertow with a citrus-zest vibrant aftertaste. This has a lot more potential complexity if you can keep it for a few years but it is hard to resist now. ~ (17) Julia Harding, JancisRobinson.com 6-6-2025

The 2023 Schlossberg is pure, precise and finely flinty on the concentrated and savory nose that references ripe and fleshy mangoes as well as crushed blue slate. Round, lush and elegant on the palate, this is a sweet and sour Riesling with substance and a long, intense and structured finish. The wine doesn't shine bright at this stage but leaves so much flesh or material on the palate that its future is doubtlessly rosy. Not fully dry but also not sweet, this is simply a rich and generously textured Riesling from the Lorcher Schlossberg. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in September 2024. ~ (95) Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 10-31-2024
