2022 Nuits-St-Georges, Chaignots, Robert Chevillon

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Chaignots 1er Cru has a glorious bouquet with impressive purity and charm, floral, black cherries and veins of blue fruit bursting from the glass. The medium-bodied palate has ripe tannins, leaning a little towards the red fruit side of the spectrum, with black pepper and a slightly savory finish. A markedly spicier and slightly cooler nose features notes of red currant, earth and a pretty floral top note. The racy, delicious and well-detailed medium weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the lingering finish that also displays a hint of bitter pit fruit character.
