2024 Meursault, Santenots, Marquis d'Angerville

The 2024 Volnay Village includes some fruit eked from the Premier Crus this year. It has quite a precocious nose with Morello cherries and crushed strawberry, just a touch of cassis coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet candied opening. Quite fleshy and harmonious although it needs more grip and density at the back end. The 2024 Meursault Santenots 1er Cru had just a light reduction on the nose, touches of yellow fruit and grilled hazelnuts, a minor smokiness. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and focused, perhaps just requiring a little more mineralité to come through on the finish but a step up from the previous vintage overall. ~ (92) Neal Martin, Vinous 1-1-2026
