2024 Meursault, Les Vireuils, Maison Benjamin Leroux
The 2024 Meursault Les Vireuils (which will be owned by Leroux from the 2025 vintage) has a taut and very minerally bouquet, more austere than the Village, focused with fine energy. The palate is fresh with fine grip, quite sapid and focused, gaining weight towards the persistent finish. Excellent. ~ (93) Neal Martin, Vinous 1-1-2026
Typical Meursault ripe stone fruit cut with orange zest. Well-balanced use of oak. Should drink well from the start but has the density to age. ~ (16) Andy Howard, JancisRobinson.com 1-14-2026
Here too there is just enough reduction to mask everything but a dollop of wood influence. There is by contrast both good freshness and energy to the less concentrated but finer and more mineral-driven flavors that conclude in a bone-dry, focused, delineated and lightly bitter lemon-inflected finale. This too should amply reward 5 to 8 years of keeping. ~ (89) Allen Meadows, Burghound 6-10-2026
