2024 Meursault-Blagny, Piece Sous le Bois, Maison Benjamin Leroux

The 2024 Meursault-Blagny La Pièce Sous Le Bois 1er Cru has a taut, fresh, quite leesy bouquet that gains vigour in the glass. The palate is well balanced with tangy nectarine and Clementine notes, fine weight with a focused, lightly spiced finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a classy Meursault though I feel it does not have the longevity of the Narvaux or Les Vireuils. ~ (92) Neal Martin, Vinous 1-1-2026

Soft wood surrounds the slightly riper and overtly floral-suffused aromas of mostly petrol, quinine, pear and a whiff of wet stone. There is better volume to the utterly delicious and seductively textured medium weight flavors that deliver even better length on the firmer, balanced and sappy finish.
