2024 Gevrey-Chambertin, Les Cazetiers, Maison Benjamin Leroux

This is aromatically similar to the Gevrey villages but with slightly more floral influence. The sleek and markedly intense flavors, though not especially dense, flavors brim with minerality that carries over to the impressively long, firm, youthfully austere, power and balanced finale. This is well-worth checking out though note that like most competent examples of Cazetiers, this well-made effort will also need at least moderate patience. ~ (92) Allen Meadows, Burghound 4-1-2026

The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers 1er Cru has a slightly smudged nose at first: white pepper and mulberry fruit, just a touch of reduction. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. Well-balanced with a judicious touch of spice, this feels quite linear on the finish but it is quite persistent. ~ (92) Neal Martin, Vinous 1-1-2026
