2024 Echezeaux, Maison Benjamin Leroux

Moderate wood is present on the aromas of mostly exotic tea, spice, violet and a mix of red and blue pinot fruit. The quite supple but energetic flavors deliver fine length on the complex and balanced finale that is firm but not really compact. This is perhaps a bit light for a classic Ech but I like the balance and refinement. ~ (92) Allen Meadows, Burghound 4-1-2026

The 2024 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a lovely bouquet with pure redcurrant and wild cherry fruit, wilted rose petals and crushed stone. The palate is very well balanced with satin-textured tannins, impressive depth and a poised finish. Leroux only made one Côte de Nuits Grand Cru in 2024 - but it's a great one. ~ (95) Neal Martin, Vinous 1-1-2026
