In the same fashion as the Aux Cras, the nose is just sufficiently reduced to blur the nuances of the spicy dark berry fruit aromas. The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru contains 60% whole bunch. It's a little exposed on the nose—it just needed a little more fruit. However, my glass was colder than normal due to the cellar temperatures. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth tannins. It's not quite as complex as the previous vintage, but it's harmonious, with just the right spice level and hints of blood orange toward the finish. The 2023 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées reveals aromas of raspberries and cherries mingled with orange zest and violets.
