Classic red and black fruits intermixed with a darker, granitic character emerge from the 2023 Saint Joseph. Medium to full-bodied, layered, and textured on the palate, it has focused tannins and beautiful depth. Vinified with roughly 30% whole clusters, the 2023 Saint-Joseph reveals first impressions of highly fragrant orange blossom, dried violets and red cherry inflections. Perfumed and approachable, the 2023 Saint-Joseph from Jean-Louis Chave is superb, revealing aromas of iris, violet, dark berries and fresh fruit mingled with a subtle menthol nuance. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and supple, it’s textured and precise, built around a core of fruit with good depth, framed by velvety tannins and concluding with a long, perfumed finish.
