2023 Puligny-Montrachet, La Rue aux Vaches, Alvina Pernot (1.5L)

Slightly riper aromas of acacia, carnation, pear and apple compote and discreet spice wisps are trimmed in plenty of petrol character. The succulent and gorgeously textured medium weight flavors are supported by citrus-tinged acidity on the firm, long and equally well-balanced finale. This is also very good for its level though note that my suggested initial drinking window accounts for the large format bottling. ~ (89) Allen Meadows, Burghound 6-1-2025

From vines located just below Les Pucelles, the 2023 Puligny-Montrachet La Rue Aux Vaches has a taut and fresh bouquet, quite precise rather than powerful, more malic in style than Pernot's other cuvées. The palate is clean, focused and creamier than other cuvées, counterbalanced by acidity with peach skin and caramelized pear toward the finish. Fine.
