2023 Nuits-St-Georges, Aux Cras, Gerard Mugneret

Here there is just enough reduction to push what are clearly ripe dark berry aromas to the background. On the palate there is very fine verve and an almost aggressive minerality that adds lift to the balanced and impressively long finish that is shaped by fine-grained tannins. This is a Nuits of refinement, indeed it's almost delicate and as such, it's more for those who appreciate subtlety. ~ (93) Allen Meadows, Burghound 1-1-2025

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Cras 1er Cru is quite backward on the nose. The 40% whole bunch here lends freshness, with touches of pine and bergamot infusing the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious entry, mineral-rich red fruit notes, fine grip and a touch of spice on the finish.
