2023 Meursault, Les Genevrieres, Maison Benjamin Leroux

The 2023 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is a blend of Dessus and Dessous parcels due to degenerating vines from the 161-49 clone (one parcel was pulled out). This has a very poised bouquet with fine mineralité and light smoky scents, reminiscent of Comte-Lafon in some ways. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It is not the most complex Genevrières, but it sports fine tension and salinity on the finish. ~ (92) Neal Martin, Vinous 1-1-2025

Mid lemon. Ripe peach and apple on the nose. Medium-bodied with ripe fruit on the palate and an inch or two of puppy fat. It is, however, chiselled and very precise on the finish. Nothing in excess. Ends lean and precise. ~ (17) Matthew Hayes, JancisRobinson.com 11-8-2024
