2023 Echezeaux, Domaine Nicole Lamarche (1.5L)

A wonderfully exotic nose presents notes of dried orange peel, clove, anise, jasmine tea and crushed red berries. The highly refined and exceptionally punchy medium weight flavors are not particularly dense but I really like the sense of underlying tension that suffuses the superbly long, detailed, dusty and youthfully austere finale. This is a wine that could reasonably be approached after only 5 to 7 years or held to good effect for 12+. ~ (94) Allen Meadows, Burghound 1-10-2025
