Spicy and ripe aromas include those of predominantly red berries, especially cherry, along with a pretty floral top note. The plump, round and generously proportioned middleweight flavors exhibit good persistence on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish where a touch of warmth gradually emerges. This could use better depth but is also a wine that is sufficiently pliant to be enjoyed on the younger side. ~ (92) Allen Meadows, Burghound 1-1-2024

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru comes from vines that, for the first time, were not hedged. The detailed bouquet unfurls in the glass: violet-tinged red fruit, a little more Pinoté than some of Chuerlin's other cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet and candied entry. Vanilla and orange sorbet percolate through the red and black fruit. The 50% new oak is perhaps a little vocal on the finish but will assimilate with time.
