2022 Morey-Saint-Denis, Genavrieres, Lignier-Michelot

There are seven barrels of the 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Genavrières, a lovely wine that offers up aromas of smoky berries, wild plums, licorice and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and pure palate that's elegant, bright and perfumed, concluding with a saline finish. ~ (93) William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 1-18-2024

The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Genavrières 1er Cru has a fresher nose than the Aux Charmes, the 60% whole bunches neatly integrated, quite saline brine scents emerging in time. The medium-bodied palate has gentle grip and fine depth, harmonious with a lightly spiced, almost low-key finish compared to its peers. An exuberantly spicy and elegant perfumed nose displays subtle floral elements on the black cherry and essence of plum aromas. There is again a gorgeous mouthfeel to the middleweight flavors that are refined, even classy, on the youthfully austere, balanced and lingering finish that is highly complex.
