2022 Echezeaux, En Orveaux, Bouchard Pere et Fils
Aromas of raspberries, orange zest, petals, spices and smoke introduce the 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping wine that's grand, seamless and charming, with good depth at the core, polished tannins and lively acids, concluding with a saline finish. ~ (94) William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 1-18-2024

Cask sample. Plenty to chew on here. Lots of wood on the palate, all rather dominant at the moment. The fruit takes a backward position but will emerge after several years’ ageing. Leafy, good texture, nice concentration here. ~ (17) Andy Howard, JancisRobinson.com 1-16-2024
Here too generous wood is present on the exuberantly spicy aromas of liqueur-like black fruit, plum and exotic tea. There is excellent detail and punch to the finer but less concentrated flavors that exude an appealing bed of minerality on the moderately austere, focused and balanced finale. ~ (94) Allen Meadows, Burghound 4-10-2024
Great aromatic complexity with notes that range from red beets to licorice, allspice to bitter chocolate. Powerful and expansive with a lovely freshness on the palate that deftly counterpoints the substantial tannin structure and keeps the imposing finish bright. From a 0.4 hectare south-facing plot that was picked early to avoid overripeness. ~ (97) James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 6-30-2023
