2022 Corton-Charlemagne, Domaine des Heritiers de Louis Jadot

The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), which is continuing its élevage in foudre, unwinds in the glass with notes of citrus oil, pear, hazelnuts, fresh mint and subtle reduction. Full-bodied, layered and chalky, with a rich core of fruit that's still youthfully tightly wound, it concludes with a long, resonant finish. Cask sample. Sweet almond paste on the nose – very true to appellation! Substantial yet sweet rather than savoury. Well put together but there is a bit more nerve in white burgundies at the southern end of the Côte d’Or. There is certainly some purity and grand-cru concentration here.
