2021 Chablis, Domaine Raveneau
Pale lemon. Clear and bright. Apple, lemon and pear. Crystalline acidity. Dry, savoury. ~ (16) Matthew Hayes, JancisRobinson.com 9-20-2022
Notes of citrus oil, oyster shell and white flowers, mingled with a touch of vintage-typical exotica, introduce Raveneau's 2021 Chablis Village, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and fleshy wine with good mid-palate volume and a saline, aromatic finish. ~ (89) William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 9-7-2023
The 2021 Chablis Village was picked on September 25 and bottled in April. It has a winsome, perfumed nose that has shaken off the reduction that I discerned last year. The palate is well-balanced with good weight, with a twist of bitter lemon infusing with the wet stone element towards the finish. Fresh and sapid, enjoy this over the next 5-6 years. ~ (89) Neal Martin, Vinous 9-1-2023
Hints of wood and menthol suffuse the ripe yet still cool and airy aromas of iodine, lemon-lime, shellfish and Granny Smith apples. The delicious and nicely concentrated medium-bodied flavors possess a seductive texture while exhibiting excellent persistence on the moderately dry and balanced finale. This is quite good for its level and worth checking out. ~ (90) Allen Meadows, Burghound 10-1-2023
