It is juicy upon entry with ripe wild berry fruits and a twang of citrus, while a tactile mineral tinge adds complexity toward the close. The Val di Suga 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Poggio al Granchio comes from the estate’s highest-elevation parcels and immediately conveys freshness and lift, underscoring its site-driven character. The palate is taut and firm, with forest berry and blackcurrant framed by a strong sense of tension, making this wine more vertical and streamlined than its siblings and clearly built for patience. This is rich, round and saturated with flavors of cherry, blackberry, rose hip and wild herbs. Though dense and still a bit monolithic, this red remains beautifully balanced, expressive and long, with an underlying mineral vein. Shows fine complexity and youthful vigor.
