Composed of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in 70% new and 30% one-year-old French oak, the medium garnet-purple colored 2015 La Conseillante opens with reticent, earthy notes of dusty soil, garrigue, forest floor and iron ore with a core of warm plums, cassis, cigar boxes, star anise and dark chocolate plus a hint of violets. Medium to full-bodied with decadent fruit and a gorgeous plushness to the texture, the palate features impeccable poise and compelling depth, finishing on a lingering mineral note. ~ (96) Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2-21-2018

Newly-arrived Technical Director Marielle Cazaux turned out a jewel of a wine at La Conseillante in 2015, her debut vintage. A polished and super-sophisticated Pomerol, La Conseillante is all class. Precise, lifted aromatics make a strong first impression, but it is the wine's overall feel and sense of harmony that truly dazzle. Over the last two years, the 2015 seems to have gained in freshness, precision and nuance. What a wine! The blend is 81% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc. Don't' miss it. ~ (97) Antonio Galloni , Vinous 2-18-2018

The 2015 La Conseillante has a vibrant, complex bouquet that soars from the glass with wild strawberry, blackberry, briar and black truffle shavings. There is more mineralité here compared to previous bottles encountered. The palate is very well balanced with wonderful poise and tension. It's harmonious and velvety in texture which disguises the backbone underneath. A deft sprinkle of black pepper enhances the finish and completes a marvelous La Conseillante. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index. ~ (96) Neal Martin, Vinous 6-1-2025

Aromas of tar, black olive skin and blackberries follow through to a full body. Ultra-fine tannins and a long, linear finish with super intensity. Well-crafted in every sense. A fabulous Pomerol for the future. Try in 2022. ~ (98) James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 1-22-2018

Tasted blind. Really appetising and cool and fresh. Everything in its place. Sumptuous. Very serious for the long term but already delivering pleasure. Lovely pure finish. Several tasters remarked how much better this tasted than en primeur. ~ (18.5) Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com 1-23-2019

Reminding me of the 2009, the 2015 La Conseillante is more overt and sexy compared to the 2016, offering a huge nose of mulled black fruits, spring flowers, chocolate and gravely/clay-like earthiness. This is a full-bodied, complex, elegant and layered 2015 that has a singular character and the class to drink well for 20-25 years. ~ (96) Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com 11-30-2017

This is reserved, with subtle Earl Grey tea, singed apple wood and warm fruitcake aromas opening slowly ahead of a core of dark boysenberry, raspberry and blackberry compote flavors. A lovely swath of velvety tannins carries the finish, with the fruit and spice aromas pulling together nicely. Some patience is needed here, but this is one of the elite of the AOC in this vintage. Best from 2023 through 2040. 3,333 cases made. ~ (95) James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 3-31-2018

Love the juicy expression of brambled fruit, blackberry and black cherry, freshly cut herbs, cocoa bean, pomegranate, crushed rocks, woodsmoke, creamy but with enough steps on the brakes to keep the exuberance in check. Has further blossomed since I last tasted in 2021. 75% new oak, first year with Marielle Cazeaux as director and winemaker. 39.5hl/h yield. ~ (95) Jane Anson, Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux 2-6-2025
