2014 Jacquesson & Fils, Dizy Corne Bautray, Extra Brut

Made from Chardonnay that comes from the top of the "mountain" of Dizy, the 2014 Champagne Dizy Corne Bautray Extra Brut pours a slightly deeper straw yellow hue and has more richness and depth, with notes of licorice and some bitter orange citrus on the finish. Medium to full-bodied, it has a fabulous creaminess to the mousse as well as very pretty hints of fresh pineapples, preserved citrus, and toasted brioche. It also has a kiss more ripeness of fruit. The 2014 Extra-Brut Dizy Corne Bautray Grand Cru is rich, ample and effusive. Clay-rich soils yield a Chardonnay that is distinctly Pinot-leaning in it is amplitude and overall breadth.
