2009 Dom Ruinart, Brut Rose
A blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir from Aÿ and a dosage of four grams per liter, the 2009 Dom Ruinart Rosé possesses a complex, vibrant bouquet with aromas of cherry, spring flowers, gooseberry, tangerine, almonds, pastry and slightly reductive elegant notes. Full-bodied, fleshy and vinous, the palate is perfectly balanced, dense and concentrated, with a delicate mousse and a long, saline, penetrating finish. There’s plenty of structure and substance here. There is no reason to wait, but it will age beautifully for another five to eight years. ~ (96) Yohan Castaing, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 4-20-2023
The 2009 Dom Ruinart Rosé is a joyous, radiant Rosé, a Champagne that very much captures the personality of its vintage. Rich, ample and layered, the 2009 captivates all the senses with its heady, Pinot-driven personality. The blend includes about 15% still red Pinot, lower than the 20% that was once the norm but more than is typical since then. ~ (94) Antonio Galloni , Vinous 4-25-2025
A refined, savory and delicate rosé Champagne that has a pretty salmon-orange color and notes of dried flowers, mushrooms, potpourri and pie crust. Grapefruit, too. Very fine and sleek on the palate. Touch of white pepper and salt on a long finish. Chardonnay with 15% pinot noir red wine. 4g/L dosage. Drink now or hold. ~ (96) James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 7-19-2024
Salmon-colored with a tinge of copper, the 2009 Champagne Dom Ruinart Rosé has the same base as the Blanc, but with the 15% addition of red wine, and has 4 grams per liter of dosage. Floral and exuberant with springy freshness, it opens to aromas of fresh peach, pressed flowers, and rocky earth. It takes time to open in the glass, but the palate is supple and soft, with medium body and a touch of warmth on the finish. It’s a bit more subtle compared to the Blanc De Blancs Extra Brut, but it’s very pretty as it opens. Drink 2024-2040. Disgorged July 2018. ~ (95) Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com 11-17-2023
