NV Gaspard Brochet, Extra Brut, Chardonnay, La Pie (2023 Base)

Originating from Écueil and matured in wood, Gaspard Brochet’s NV Chardonnay La Pie Tome VI (2023) was disgorged in January 2026 with a dosage of two grams per liter. It opens in the glass with aromas of sesame oil, pine resin and meadowsweet mingled with toasted bread and nashi pear, framed by a deft application of new oak reflecting its maturation in over two-thirds new barrels. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and vinous on the palate, it is built around a layered core of fruit, animated by vivid acidity and concluding with a saline finish. ~ (93) Kristaps Karklins, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 7-30-2026
