2024 Clos Vougeot, Louis Jadot

Nice Pinot nose. Soft red fruits of cherries and strawberries dusted with a little bit of spice. Quite high and marked acidity. Perhaps lacking a little bit of grand cru texture and depth. From one of the sites that suffered the most from mildew in this growing season, the 2024 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) represents only 3.5 barrels produced from two hectares. The crop of the bottom part of the clos, indeed, was almost entirely wiped out, so this bottling is dominated by Jadot's holdings higher up the slope. Offering up notes of plums, orange zest, root beer and cola, it's medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and dense, with a thick, layered profile that reflects the low yields. ~ (93) William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2-26-2026

The 2024 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a very perfumed, floral bouquet with violet-infused red fruit, light touches of tobacco and forest floor surfacing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with finely sculpted tannins, quite tensile, not powerful but you must doff your casquette to admire its purity and simmering spiciness on the aftertaste. A distinctly earthy and marked sauvage-infused nose is comprised by notes of cool red berries, humus and a whiff of leather character, all trimmed in enough wood to notice. There is good energy and acceptable density to the delicious and nicely rich flavors that exhibit the hallmark austerity of a classic CV. This does though need to develop ample depth because while it's not simple, neither does it possess the same complexity as the better wines here. ~ (92) Allen Meadows, Burghound 4-10-2026
