2023 Beaune, Clos des Ursules, Domaine des Heritiers de Louis Jadot

Moderately generous wood and menthol again is present on the ripe aromas of poached plum, dark cherry liqueur and a violet top note. The seductively textured, if not particularly dense, flavors possess good verve and detail while maintaining solid balance on the compact, serious and youthfully austere finale. The 2023 Beaune Clos des Ursules 1er Cru leans more toward a "meaty" bouquet, with touches of singed leather struck through the red fruit against a background of leather scents. The palate is where this really comes into its own amongst the sextet of Beaune Premier Crus: finer tannins, beautifully balanced with a sensual, silky finish that beckons you back for more.
