A more elegant and airier nose is comprised by very fresh aromas of mostly red berry, floral and spice wisps. The caressing and lacy yet nicely punchy and rich middleweight flavors possess a lovely sense of harmony on the moderately firm and beautifully balanced finale that stays on the palate an impressively long time. The 2022 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru has a pretty, quite effervescent nose with Morello cherries, wild strawberry and wilted rose petal scents, delicate but with plenty of energy. The medium-bodied palate has fine-grain tannins, very harmonious and silky smooth, with a lacy structure on the finish.
