2022 Chateau La Fleur Petrus
Very structured LFP with black berry, chocolate, walnut and spice character. Full yet fresh with tannic tension and energy in the finish. One for the cellar. 96.5% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 0.5% petit verdot. ~ (98) James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 4-19-2023
The high point of the Mouiex portfolio this year is the beautiful 2022 La Fleur-Pétrus, a wine that derives from a number of prime clay-gravel parcels on Pomerol's plateau. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis and cherries mingled with hints of orange zest, pencil shavings and toasty oak, it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and fleshy, with an ample core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, perfumed finish. Seamless and complete, it will offer a broad drinking window. ~ (96) William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 4-28-2023

While this château normally produces one of the most perfumed, elegant, ethereal wines in the appellation, the 2022 Château La Fleur-Petrus is a powerhouse offering loads of ripe red and black fruits, leafy tobacco, chocolate, and spring flower-like aromas and flavors. These carry over to the palate, where the wine shows a touch more of its classic elegance and is full-bodied, has a seamless, layered mouthfeel, building tannins, and a great finish. ~ (97) Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com 5-10-2023

Elegant and fresh with an impressive depth of fruit. A note of mint furthers the complexity. Refined texture, the tannins silky and long. Plenty of drive and energy. Persistent. Measured and spot on. ~ (17.5) James Lawther, JancisRobinson.com 5-5-2023
