2021 Puligny-Montrachet, Joseph Drouhin
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a finely-tuned nose, Granny Smiths intermixed with a very light gooseberry aroma. The palate is crisp on the entry with a fine bead of acidity. A more floral and more elegant nose reveals its aromas of essence of just sliced citrus, mineral reduction and crushed fennel nuance. There is a lovely sense of verve to the utterly delicious flavors that are especially dens but do possess a beguiling refinement as the innate class of Puligny if very much present on the very dry, focused and youthfully austere finale.
