2021 Meursault, Les Perrieres, Joseph Drouhin

Moderate wood sets off the cool aromas of pear confit, acacia blossom and pretty spice wisps. There is very fine density to the relatively generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors that exude the hallmark minerality of a fine Perrières that adds a sense of lift to the impressively long finish where hints of wood and sweetness appear. I suspect that the sweetness will gradually dissipate as the wood is more completely integrated. ~ (94) Allen Meadows, Burghound 6-10-2023
