The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru has an attractive nose with red berry fruit, autumn leaves and subtle graphite scents, all gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. It's surprisingly creamy in texture and candied towards the finish, though lacks the intrinsic complexity of a truly great vintage. The rich yet sleek and utterly delicious bigger-bodied and more powerful flavors exude a more subtle minerality on the balanced and impressively persistent finale.
